A 12-lead ECG is an electrocardiogram that gathers information from 12 different areas of the heart. Electrodes placed on your skin will record the electrical activities of your heartbeat and allow us to check your heart rhythm.
Exercise stress echocardiography is also known as stress echo test, and it involves both ultrasound images as well as ECG. Like the exercise stress test, this also involves walking on a treadmill.
A Holter monitor is a small, wearable device that records a continuous ECG for 24 to 48 hours. While wearing this device, you will be able to carry out your normal activities.
Exercise stress testing helps us to analyse your symptoms if they occur most often during exercise. Our exercise stress tests will involve you walking on a treadmill, or injecting you with a drug to mimic the effect of exercise on your heart.
Transthoracic echocardiogram is an ultrasound of your heart, and we use this to get various views of your heart. It is a non-invasive assessment that will help us assess the overall health of your heart.
This includes pacemakers, implantable defibrillators, cardiac re-synchronization devices, and loop recorders.
